Arsene Wenger hints at late signings in this transfer window

The 2016 summer transfer window opened on June 9 and will be closing on August 31.

This means that clubs have the chance to add new players to their respective squad for the next few weeks and Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger has stated that there is a chance of signing new players but it will be probably be done when the transfer window is reaching it’s final stages.

The French manager stated that he does feel and understand the frustration that is going around arriving from the Arsenal supporters as the English club still continues their search of winning a Premier League title which has not been done in over 10 years.

“I can understand the excitement level and the anxiety level of our fans, as they are seeing all the clubs bringing players in. We know by experience that the most active week is the last week of August and at the moment it’s a bit of a poker game between everyone. If you look at the market in Europe, there’s a lot of money but not many players who really strengthen the teams’’ Arsene Wenger said as he talked about the possibility of signing players.

Arsenal’s main summer target was Jamie Vardy of Leicester City but that transfer will not happen as the English attacker voiced his desire to remain with the current champions of England at least for another season and this now forces Arsene Wenger on having to look for someone else.

Arsene Wenger did manage to splash out a fairly significant amount of money as he signed Granit Xhaka for a reported fee of €30 million from Borussia Monchengladbach but fans of the club want to see a few more top players being signed which can help in Arsenal’s journey of winning major pieces of silverware.
