Macherano praises Di Maria

Javier Mascherano reckons his national teammate Angel Di Maria is a top winger and signing him will prove to be a masterstroke for Manchester United.
Di Maria has cost United close to 60 million Pounds. It’s a record signing in England.
The new Manchester United boss, Louis Van Gaal, is said to be a Di Maria fan.
According to Mascherano, apart from being able to unsettle the opposing players, Di Maria can play defensively as well when needed. He is a guy whom a manager can play at various places as he has something to offer everywhere.
The 30-year old centre half said, “I am not sure Real should have sold Angel, not at this point of his career when he seems to be just getting better and better. They are at loss having let him go. However, I am not too concerned by that.”
“Angel is as good a winger as you can have. He is quick, covers distance and there’s flexibility in his game. He doesn’t play one way. He’s pretty good in defending as well and that’s why, he is an absolute asset for a manager.”
Mascherano, in that interview, also talked about his other teammate Lionel Messi, defending him for not taking part in the friendly versus Germany.
In the words of Mascherano, “Leo has always been committal to his country, no matter what. So, I don’t think the criticism that he is receiving right now is valid. He doesn’t pick matches, let me tell you. He is always available for Argentina whenever he is fit.”
Few Argentinean fans were of the view that Messi’s injury was actually not so bad that he needed to withdraw from the Germany game, but, he did that to save himself for the upcoming Barcelona matches.
