WRIGHT BLASTS ARSENAL

Former Arsenal player Ian Wright blasted the effort of the management in not getting players this summer, despite the obvious need. After the 4-3 loss to Liverpool, fans and analysts dragged the club for not making enough reinforcements and Wright was one of them.

The 52-year old football Pundit opined that the persistent inactivity in the transfer market could cost the Gunners a lot this season.

Wright said “We’re now a club where people use us to get a new contract at Leicester!” speaking of Jamie Vardy’s snub of Arsenal despite Wenger’s readiness to sign him after his last season feats. Arsenal have been linked to many other players but the deal seem not go through time and time again.

“It’s a bit like we’re playing at netbetcasino but no-one wants to play with us or even take our money!”

“When I joined Arsenal, they had just won the league twice. It’s a different time. Before the Liverpool game, I was so nervous because there was nothing to be excited about. When we signed Dennis Bergkamp and Marc Overmars, it excited the fans and the players. Those signings made statements and we’ve seen that the other top clubs,” Wright explained.

Another former player Thierry Henry was reported to have said Arsenal had lost the edge in the transfer market, hence they couldn’t attract the best players like they used to. Wenger’s reluctance to pay the asking price for defenders has left him employing youngster Rob Holding and Calum Chambers in the centre of the defence. Per Mertesacker and Gabriel are out injured, and Wenger opted not to use Laurent Koscielny after his Euro tournament for France.

Arsenal have longed been linked with a move for Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi but agreeing the transfer fee and personal terms have foiled the deal so far. On an endnote, Wright added that the season might be another frustrated one for Arsenal if they don’t sign players before the season ends.
