Cazorla commits to Arsenal

Santi Cazorla has played down rumors that have linked him with a move to Spanish giants Atletico Madrid who have already apparently lodged a cheeky bid for the player with the Arsenal player insisting that his future lies firmly at the Emirates Stadium and with the Gunners.

The Spanish international midfielder joined the club just last summer from Spanish club Malaga and enjoyed a stellar debut season for the club in which he was arguably the club’s player of the season. But the 28 year old has been linked with a stunning return to the Spanish League in recent weeks with Atletico Madrid set to utilize the huge transfer fee they received for Radamel Falcao from AS Monaco in making a bid for the player.

But the player himself has rebuffed claims that he is looking for a move away and insists that he is happy in London. He stated that much has been said about interest from Atletico Madrid but insisted that he is very happy in London and is committed to the cause of Arsenal. He admitted that he has a long term contract with the club and he is looking forward to returning to training after being given a long layoff after his involvement for Spain in the FIFA Confederations Cup.

He also mentioned that only time will tell if he ever returns to Spain but added that at this moment, it is very difficult for him to say anything about the future. But the Spanish midfielder did mention that he is very happy for Spanish teammate David Villa who moved from Barcelona to Atletico as a replacement for Falcao.

Villa had been linked with a move to Arsenal for much of this year and Cazorla believes his transfer is good news for both Spain and Atletico.
