Ian Wright believes that with the aid of PetrCech, Arsenal has become true title contenders

On June 29 of the current year, PetrCech completed his transfer from Chelsea to Arsenal as the club of Arsene Wenger had to pay £10,900,000 in order to secure the services of the veteran shot stopper.

Before the transfer had even been done, the former star of Arsenal Ian Wright started complementing PetrCech by saying that if a deal could indeed occur it will turn Arsenal into genuine contenders of becoming the new champions of England and taking the title away from Chelsea.

Ian Wright said: “If we can get the Cech deal over the line then it’ll be a genuinely terrific bit of business by Wenger. He’ll earn us around 10 or 15 points a season and that will make us title challengers.”

PetrCech is expected to turn into the new main goal-keeper of the Emirates Stadium as the experienced player wants to play a starting role in a top club despite him having already reached the 33 years of age.

David Ospina and WojciechSzczesny are the goal-keepers which each player managing to make over 15 appearances in the previous season for Arsenal but with the recent acquisition of PetrCech, one of them will have to be dropped to the sidelines and there is a possibility of even seeing them being sold during the summer transfer window in order for Arsene Wenger to have a compact team and selling some of his players is something that might have to be done.

In the latest Premier League season, Arsenal scored 71 goals and conceded 36 but this amount of conceded goals is expected to significantly lower down with the arrival of PetrCech. This is what Arsenal needs to finally have a realistic chance of winning the Premier League which they haven’t won in over 10 years.
